The Northfield Boy’s Wrestling Team kicked off their 2024-2025 season by hosting the 2nd Annual Bill Campbell Wrestling Invitational on Saturday.
In head-to-head duel action, Northfield competed against Manchester, Oak Hill, Tippecanoe Valley, Triton, and Tri-Central High Schools. The grappling Norsemen finished 4-1 on the day, losing to Oak Hill in a 38-38 tie that had to be determined after a review of 7 different criteria. This is the closest Northfield has been to beat Oak Hill since 1996, showing significant progress and promising future for the team.

The Norsemen compete next at the TRC Super Duel on December 6th & 7th. at Maconaquah High School.
On Saturday, the Lady Norsemen Wrestling Team traveled to Rochester High School to compete in the Rochester Girl’s Wrestling Tournament. The Lady’s placed 10th out of 25 teams. Senior Ella Gahl and Sophomore Amarah Frieden, supported by their teammates, went undefeated on the day, placing first in the 155-lb and 135-lb weight classes, respectively. Junior Ella France placed fourth in the 130-lb weight class. Sophomores Olia Leffert and Kaedence Mitchell did not place.
