The Southwood golf team fell to Rochester and Manchester Wednesday at Round Barn in Rochester.

Keaton Metzger and Ross Andrews tied for team medalist with 43, followed by Griffin Chambers 44, Dave Bowyer 45 and Aiden Selig 49. The Junior Varsity players of Maddox Marshall shot 46, Wyatt Smith 50, Eli Boone 56 and Carson Harmon 58. Our next match is Thursday May 15th at Etna Acres GC at 4: 30 pm hosting Eastbrook and Southern Wells.
The Squires traveled to Round Barn in Rochester to face off against conference rivals Rochester and Southwood. The weather held off and it was a perfect night for golf. The Squires were able to secure the win after solid rounds up and down the varsity lineup. Again, no one played absolutely amazing golf, but we put together a solid team score. Connor Trump and Caleb Sautter led the team with a pair of 41s, followed by Luke Gish with a 42. Gavin Betten shot a solid 45 and Landon Gish rounded out the scoring with a 46. Normally you take the 4 best scores, but that left us and Rochester tied at 169. We won that match on the 5th man score, putting Landon’s 46 up against Rochester #5s 50. The Squires will be back at Round Barn Saturday for the conference tournament where we hope to finish in the top 3.
