Results from Oak Hill for Saturday, August 23rd
The Oak Hill Lady Eagles improve to 3-0 on the season after an 8-0 win over Marion. Landri Hardman scored 4 goals. Kora Pond, Madelyn Cheek, Erika Newhouse, and Annie Hale each scored a goal for the Eagles. Lexi Nuber had 2 assists. In addition to their goals, Hale and Pond each had an assist. The Lady Eagles host Blackford on Wednesday evening at 6pm.
The OHXC Golden Eagles had a very strong showing Saturday in Shelbyville placing 2 Runners in the Top 10 and 4 in the Top 18 to Win the 41 School Jeremy Wright Memorial Small School Invitational with a low 80 points. The event featured only Class 1a and 2a Programs. An always strong Austin Program was 2nd with 133 and a tough Hauser team was 3rd with 189. No other school scored less than 230 points.
Seniors Corban Tippey 6th and Brayden Sommers 9th led the way with a pair of Top 10s. Sophomore Josh Clark and Junior Wyatt Hart were also Top 30 Medalist in 16th and 18th respectively.
Freshman Cooper McQuiston competing in his 1st 5k was 5th man just missing the podium in 34th.
Additional Top 7 Varsity Athletes were 6th man Sophomore Bret Hueston in 50th and 7th man Freshman Graham Arrendale in 59th.
The OHXC Lady Eagles had a very strong showing finishing 2nd at Saturday’s 41 School Jeremy Wright Memorial Small School Invitational held in Shelbyville. The event featured only Class 1a and 2a Programs.
The Lady Eagles put 4 athletes on the Top 30 Podium all earning Top 15 Finishes in the field of the nearly 200 runners. Add in a solid 5th and 6th place runner in the Top 37 and the ladies earned a Runner Up finish behind a very strong Southwestern Hanover team to a score of 51-58. SW Hanover is one of the State’s highest ranked small schools and is a defending Sectional Champion. Faith Christian was 3rd in 92 while Indy Genesis was 4th in 117. Only the Top 6 were under 200 points.
Senior Biruk Travis and Junior Quinn Brunner led the way with a pair of Top 10s. Travis was 6th while Brunner was 10th.
Sophomores Lilly Hunt and Rossi Skinner just missed the Top 10 taking 11th and 15th respectively while both also earning Podium honors.
The 5th Runner on the day was Senior Kaitlyn Scalf who just missed the podium in 35th. Classmate Sophia Rowland was the 6th runner in 37th and Junior Lilly Snyder rounded out the Varsity Top 7 in 47th.
Senior Lady Eagle Lydia Trexler, competing in any competition for the 1st time since major reconstructive knee surgery last year, battled taking 104th.
