
The Manchester girls soccer team fell to Western 2-1 before defeating Logansport 4-0 in the Manchester Invite Saturday.
The Lady Squires fell to the tournament champions 2-1 in the first round. It was back and forth until Western scored first at the 25 minute mark. Not too long after, Western scored off of a free kick to give them the 2-0 lead going into halfime. After halftime, the Lady Squires picked up their aggression and Samantha Shock scored off of a great pass from Joanna Eberly. Despite their efforts, the Lady Squires weren’t able to finish any of their other opportunities and lost 2-1. Cora Brown had 4 saves in the net.
The Manchester Lady Squires beat Logansport in the consolation game 4-0. The Lady Squires had many scoring opportunities as they possessed the ball most of the game. The defensive line played well and rarely let the ball through. The first goal came from Samantha Shock off of a beautiful cross from Olivia Stevens. Maggie Onderko-White had the second goal from a free kick. After halftime, the ladies scored two more goals early. Joanna Eberly headed one in on a crash after a shot from Raimi Vawter. Ava Sautter scored the final goal off of another free kick. The ladies will be playing their first conference game against Northwestern on Tuesday at 5:30.
