
The Manchester Squires varsity volleyball team got back to their winning ways with a 3 set sweep of conference opponent Wabash on Tuesday night.
The win secured a 2nd place finish in the TRC for the 2nd straight year. The Squires defeated the Apaches by set scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-20.
Izzy Renz led the Squires with a team high 14 kills. Ava Felgar followed close behind with 10 kills of her own to go along with 3 blocks. Ella Peden and Lacy Trump each contributed 6 kills on the night.
The backline defensive core put in a strong night as well. Hadley West led the group with 20 digs with Izzy Renz contributing 14 herself. Myla Crozier and Marysa Stroud each had 10 digs. Tuesday was a milestone night for senior Hadley West as during the match she reached 1000 career digs and 1000 career serve receptions.
The setting duo of Sophie Cumberland and Peyton Ream worked well with Cumberland getting 14 assists and Ream getting 15 assists.
The Squires wrapped up Three Rivers Conference play to finish 7-2 in the conference, which means they are in sole possession of 2nd place. They will wrap up their regular season with back to back home matches on Wednesday and Thursday against Tippecanoe Valley and Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian.
