The Manchester boys and girls swim teams each wrapped up their regular season with a strong showing in Fort Wayne against Canterbury and Northrop.
Northrop won the girls meet with a score of 112, followed by the Squires with 78, and Canterbury with 74. Sophie Cumberland led Manchester with wins in the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay team of Cumberland, Laynen DeLaughter, Trinity Bradley, and Jana Boladeres won a close race with Boladeres charging past the Northrop swimmer in the final lap.
The boys meet came down to the last relay, but the Squires couldn’t overcome Northrop’s depth. Northrop won the meet with 109 points, the Squires were second with 90, and Canterbury had 59. Jet Thomas led Manchester with wins in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, and Gabe Selleck won the 50 freestyle.
The girls team will travel to Warsaw next Thursday to compete in the sectional prelims, while the boys will be off until their sectional at Warsaw on February 19th.
