Wabash Track Fares Well At Goshen

The Wabash track teams ran in the Goshen relays Saturday.

The Lady Apaches track team finished 5th at this year’s Goshen Relays. The Apaches were led by Aubrey Hanes who finished 2nd in discus and 3rd in the shot put.
Haylee Friend finished 3rd in pole vault
Login Wright finished 4th in discus
Ava Bishir finished 5th in high jump

4X800 relay finished 5th – Chloe Cooper, Haylee Friend,Mia Fairchild & Mya Golliher
Sprint Medley relay was 6th – Logan Wright, Raegan Jones, Mya Golliher & Josie Bailey
4X400 relay was 7th – Chloe Cooper, Haylee Friend, Sienna Stoffel & Mia Fairchild
Distance Medly relay was 7th – Mya Golliher, Josie Bailey, Chloe Cooper & Mia Fairchild

The Intermediate Medley Relay squad Of Coleson Kugler, Preston Cantrell, Caidan Burchett, and Ezra Church secured the win against a very competitive field in the 83rd running of the Goshen Relays Saturday afternoon. The relay consisted of two 200 meter legs (Kugler, Cantrell), a 400 meter leg (Burchett), and an 800 meter leg (Church). The victory in the race added 10 points to the teams total. Kugler, Burchett, Church along with Isaiah Jones came back in the 4×400 meter relay immediately after and finished 3rd, good enough for 6 points. Coleson Kugler added another 10 points to the total with his win in the 100 meter dash and Braxten Beeks netted 3 points in the discus with his 6th place finish. Not to be outdone the 4×800 meter relay of Ezra Church, Michael LePage, Luis Trejo, and Caidan Burchett put another point on the board with their 8th place finish. All in all the Apaches scored 30 points, good enough for 8th place and just 9 points out of 4th place. There were 19 total teams in the field.

Other notable performances include Kalib Mabery’s impressive PR. Kalib dropped 28 seconds in the 1600 running an outstanding 5:10.
