The Manchester girls soccer team defeated Wabash 9-0 Tuesday.
The Lady Squires came out strong from the opening whistle, finding the back of the net within the first three minutes and never letting up. Manchester continued to apply offensive pressure throughout the first half, taking a commanding 7-0 lead into halftime.
The Squires continued their strong play in the second half, adding two more goals to finish the night with a 9-0 victory.
It was a total team effort from start to finish. Manchester did a great job connecting passes, making dangerous crosses, and consistently putting pressure on the Apache defense. The offense worked well together, creating opportunities and finding the back of the net. Aeryn Klose led the offensive attack with an impressive five goals and one assist. Allie Egolf and Ava Sautter each added a goal and an assist, while Delaney Harshman and Asia Mardy each found the back of the net. Mila Hayden and Rachel Eberly each contributed an assist to round out a balanced Manchester attack.
On the other end of the field, Ely Mobley, Brooklynn Grimes, McKayla Dillon, and Kerrington Hearn did a great job controlling the backfield. The defensive unit shut down runs, limited scoring opportunities, and quickly turned stops into attacks for the Squires. Behind them, Cora Brown was solid in goal, helping secure the shutout and keep the Apaches off the board.
