Wabash Middle School was host to the Wabash MS cross country invite Saturday.
The Wabash girls placed fourth as a team overall in the competition.
The girls’ varsity team was led by Caroline Myers, who finished with a time of 13:21, a PR. Myers placed 10th overall. Grace Jones followed with 13:30 in 14th place while Eva Sommers crossed the finish line in 25th place with a 14:45 PR. Lola Hill ran a PR time of 15:07 in 32nd place, followed by Marlowe Fansher in 15:20 in 34th and Ruby Cantrell in 15:28, close to a PR in 36th place. Alexis Lynn ran 16:48 season PR in 45th place. Finishing off the varsity crew was Haven Cook who recorded a time of 17:31 in 48th place.
Leading in the girls reserve race was Braelyn Jones. Jones finished with a PR of 16:54 in 11th place. Lauren Cook finished in 17:42 in 14th place, followed by Roslyn Hall in 17th place with a 17:56, another big PR. A tight pack was led by Alora Hampton, who crossed in 18:56 taking 19th place, while Harper Ellet finished in 19:41 in 20th place. Raelyn Page finishing in 21st place with a 20:32 PR, followed by Layna Eiler in 23rd place with a PR of 21:04. Adelyn Edwards came in 24th place with a 21:52, a season PR. Daisy Ravenscroft rounded out the Wabash runners with a huge PR time of 24:07 and in 26th place.
Led by Jeffery Small’s individual win the Apaches finished runner-up in the 12 team field. West Noble won the meet, 19 points ahead of the host Apaches 27-46. Easton Cantrell added a 10th place finish leading a chase pack of Wabash runners including Will Sullivan (13th) who broke the 11 minute barrier for the first time in his career, Macklin Denney (14th), Alek Aspinwall (16th), and Luke Aspinwall (18th). Lukas Rojas finished 26th. There were 52 runners in the field.
In the reserve race Wabash Aiden Young finished 6th. Chase LaSalle finished 10th with a new personal best time in the process. Parker Treska finished 16th with a blazing new personal record. Isaac Mattern finished 22nd, Finn Fairchild 26th, and Leo Miles 27th.
Northfield girls team placed 6th and our boys team placed 4th overall.
In the girls race- Audrey Hawkens placed 3rd with a time of 12:35, Brynley Rice placed 15th overall in a time of 13:45, Kailynn Beeks ran a 14:08 placing 18th, Emma Steller ran a 16:52 and Faye Leffert rounded out the team with a 17:35.
In the boys race- Hudson Texeira ran 11:25 and placed 5th, Gabriel Hyden ran 11:50 placing 12th over all, Declan Haupert followed in a time of 13:30, James Nesler finished in 14:33, Bryson Sanders ran a 16:26, Braylon Frieden finished with a time of 16:42 and Carson McClure finished in 17:19. Congrats to Braylon and Carson on setting a new PR
Manchester girls team ran hard and got 2nd at the Wabash MS Invite with Adia Haist (2nd), Mavis Fitzpatrick (7th), Ainsley Sarber (16th), and Lilly Donaldson (17th) all placed in the top 20. Chris Schroder (7th) also placed in the top 20 of the boys race.
