The Manchester boys basketball team hit the road to Oak Hill Saturday, getting out to a great start in a 45-28 win over the Eagles.
The Squires punched the Eagles hard in the first quarter, scoring the first 14 points of the game. Brayden Casper started the run with a three pointer and was followed by a bucket from Thane Creager. Logan Parrett would then score off an offensive rebound before Konrad Borgmann chimed in. Caleb Stout would finish off the run with back to back long ball for 14-0 lead. Manchester led 14-2 after the first quarter.
The Squires would make it 16-1 to start the second quarter on a bucket from Kreeden Krull. Manchester led 19-3 when the Eagles got on the board to make it 19-7. Leading 21-9 Austin Underwood would hit two free throws along with a bucket as the lead grew to 27-9. Casper would finish off the scoring in the quarter as the Squires led 31-14 at the half.
Manchester was cruising 37-18 in the third when Oak Hill went on a run. The Eagles would score 8 straight to cut the deficit to 37-26 when Borgmann hit, followed by two Creager free throws. At 41-28 Casper would hit twice, one a runner at the buzzer to make it 45-28 after three.
Borgmann and Casper would extend the Manchester lead to 49-28 to start the fourth quarter when once again the Eagles would make a run. Oak Hill out scored Manchester 14-4 the next few minutes to get within 11 points but it was all Kam Lester down the stretch as Manchester held on to defeat Oak Hill 61-49.

The Manchester junior varsity was defeated by Oak Hill 15-59.
