The Northfield girls and boys team headed for North Miami Friday, coming away with four wins.
The first varsity match was the girls with the 16-2 Lady Norse taking on the 14-3 Lady Warriors. The Norse, riding tired legs would get off to a good start and never look back in a 46-33 win.
Kyra Kennedy would put the Norse up 4-0, followed by a bucket from Ariel Dale before Kennedy scored again for an 7-0 lead. Bailey Keim would stop the run with a bucket before Emma Hoover ended the scoring in the quarter with Northfield leading 9-2.
Addi Baker would get the Norse going in the second with a couple buckets as the lead grew to 16-2 before Hannah Hall and Keim made it 16-6. The Norse would continue with their depth to increase their lead to 23-8 before again Keim and Hall hit to make it 25-12 at the half.
The Warriors would make a move early in the third with Hall and Taylor Tinney leading a 6-3 start to cut the Norse lead to 26-18 when Kelcie Thomson drained a three that ignited a 9-0 Norse run to give them a 35-18 lead after three.
The two teams would trade buckets the entire fourth quarter with MaryAnn Freeman leading the Warriors with 6 points in the quarter. The Norse would have five different players score in the quarter as they defeated North Miami 46-33.
Northfield scoring : Dale 9, Keaffaber 2, Thomson 4, Kennedy 8, Baker 11, Hoover 6, Stout 6
The boys would follow the girls game with North Miami jumping out to a first quarter lead before the Norse gained control in a 74-53 win.
Nate Musselman would hit the first bucket of the game and was followed by a Dariab Hanley bucket and a Tristan Working three for an 8-0 lead. Clayton Tomlinson would stop the run before Braxton Beall made it 10-2. Logan Peas would then hit a bucket and two free throws to slice the Warriors lead to 10-6 before Alex Masters and Musselman hit long balls. North Miami led 18-12 after one.
The Norse would turn the table in the second quarter, starting the quarter on a 6-0 run and out score North Miami 20-2 in the quarter. Tomlinson led the way with 11 points in the quarter with Jared Peas adding 6. Northfield led 32-20 at the half.
The Norse would maintain their lead in the third with Graydon Homes leading the way with 7 points. Tomlinson and Jared Peas would each add 5. The Warriors got 8 points from Working with Greg Sonafrank chipping in a bucket. Northfield led 49-33 after three.
The fourth quarter would turn into a track meet with 45 total points being scored. Northfield put five players in the scoring column with Nate Drancik scoring 8 points. The Warriors would also have five players score with Working leading with 8. Northfield went on to win 74-53.

Northfield won both junior varsity contest.
