The Southwood Knights got a steal from Luke Winer and a tip in from Dallas Holmes with 4.9 seconds remaining to complete a comeback win over Tippecanoe Valley 83-82 Friday.
The Knights were tied with Valley 14-14 after the first quarter before grabbing a 36-32 lead at the half. Valley would respond with a 21-10 third quarter to lead the Knights 53-46 with a quarter to go when the excitement started.
The Knights would catch fire in the fourth, putting up 23 points and out scoring the Vikings 23-16 to force overtime. The two teams would trade blows as the game was tied 74-74 after a Carson Rich three with 2:09 remaining. Southwood was trailing 82-79 when Gabe Lloyd hit a layup with 10.6 left to make it 82-81. Luke Winer would then pick the pocket of the Valley ball handler, missing the shot with Holmes tipping it in with 4.9 on the clock. The Knights defense would then step up, grabbing the 83-82 overtime thriller.

The Knights JV played their most complete game of the year beating a very good Tippy Valley team 51-45.
Dawson Filip scored a team high 22 points and also led in rebounds with 8, assists with 5 as well as steals with 5. Alex Winer scored 7 points, added 2 steals and 2 blocks. Although battling the flu, Chase Lopez scored 6 points and 2 steals. Isaac Holloway also had 6 points with 3 steals. Derrick Smith scored 5 points and had 2 offensive rebounds. Logan Barley added 4 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
