NORTH MANCHETER, Ind. – Senior outfield Tyler LaFollette (Warsaw, Ind. / Warsaw) was recognized as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week on Monday afternoon.
LaFollette collected 15 hits in 29 at-bats (.517 average) across seven games last week for the Spartans. Tyler went a combined 5-8 with three RBI and a run scored in a narrow defeats at Wabash College on Tuesday. He also doubled three times and drew three walks against the Little Giants.
In single game with Heidelberg on Thursday, LaFollette went 2-4 at the plate with one RBI and one run scored.
This past weekend, LaFollette continued to swing a hot bat in a four-game series with Ohio Wesleyan. Against the Battling Bishops, LaFollette went 8-17 with a double, four runs scored, and seven RBI. He capped the weekend series with a grand slam in a 13-7 victory against Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday.
LaFollette leads Manchester in batting average (.420), hits (29), triples (1), and on-base percentage (.535) this season.
Manchester University will open HCAC play this weekend on Saturday March 30 against Hanover College. First pitch of Saturday’s doubleheader from Gratz Field will be at Noon.
