Knights Fall In Six

The Southwood baseball team opened their season hosting Churubusco Thursday, falling 8-4 after six innings when the game was called for darkness.

Busco would jump on the Knights early, scoring 1 run in the first and 3 in the top of the second before the Knights responded. In the bottom of the inning. Tristin Hayslett led off with a single and was followed by a cam Ball double. With runners on second and third. Pinch runner Jackson Simons would score on a wild pitch before Chase Lopez grounded out to chase Ball home to make it 4-2.

Churubusco would add 2 runs in the third with the Knights answering with a run. With one our Gabe Lloyd would draw a walk before advancing to second on a passed ball and scoring on two wild pitches. Southwood trailed 6-3.

Busco would score 2 more times in the top of the fifth with southwood getting one run back. With one out Alex Farr would reach on an error before stealing second. Farr would take third on a dropped third strike before scoring on a wild pitch.

The game was stopped after six because of darkness.
