The Northfield Lady Norse traveled to Bluffton Tuesday, making short work of the Tigers in a 14-4 five inning win.
Northfield would grab a 1-0 lead in the first before going off for 6 runs in the second and 7 in the third. In the first Jenna Krom would lead off drawing a walk. With two outs Addi Baker doubled home Krom for a 1-0 lead.
In the second Emma Hoover led off with a double. With one out Faith Satterhwaite singled home Hoover for a 2-0 lead. Krom would follow with a single before a Madison Shrider sacrifice bunt moved both runners. Ally Keaffaber would then single home both runners to make it 4-0. Addi Baker would then clear the bases with a two run shot over the left field fence for a 6-0 lead. Abby Hunter would follow the Baker home run with a double before pinch runner Kyra Kennedy scored on a Kenzie Baer double to make it 7-0. Bluffton would answer with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 7-3.
The Norse bats would remain hot in the third. Elise Gottschalk led off with a single and was ran for by Faith Leming. With one out Krom would single with Leming stopping at third. A Shrider walk would load the bases. With two outs Baker would reach on an error that scored Leming and Krom for a 9-3 lead. Hunter would follow with a single that chased home Shrider and Baker to make it 11-3. Kennedy would run for Hunter and take second on a wild pitch before Baer singled home Kennedy. Hoover would follow with a double with Baer advancing to third before a Gottschalk single scored Baer and Hoover to lead 14-3.
The Norse would give up a solo run in the fourth before winning the game 14-4 in five innings.
