The Manchester Squires built a 7-0 lead the first three innings before defeating Taylor 9-1 Wednesday.
In the first Grant Strobel led off drawing a walk. With two outs Strobel would advance to second on a passed ball before a Mason Roberts single made it 1-0.
The Squires would add to their lead in the second. Kyle Shepherd drew a one out walk before taking second on a two out passed ball. Strobel would follow with a single to chase Shepherd home for a 2-0 lead. Kam Lester followed with a single that scored Strobel to lead 3-0. The single parade continued when Mason Meyer drove home Lester for a 4-0 lead. Roberts and Sam Martindale would follow drawing back to back walks before a Thane Creager walk forced home Meyer to lead 5-0.
Shepherd would lead off the third with a single before advancing to second on a ground ball and third on a passed ball. Lester would then walk to put runners on the corners before Lester and Shepherd pulled off a double steal with Shepherd scoring. Roberts would follow with a single to score Lester as the lead grew to 7-0. Martindale then singled home Meyer to make it 8-0.
Taylor would plate a run in the fourth to make it 8-1 before the Squires scored their final run in the sixth. Justin Self led off with a single and was pinch ran for by Devin Marcum. A balk would move Marcum to second before a Michael Learned single scored Marcum to lead 9-1.
