Knights Handle Madison Grant
The Southwood baseball team pounded out 12 hits in a 9-3 win over Madison Grant Monday.
The Knights would grab a 3-0 lead in the second. Cam Ball led off with a single before advancing to second on a ground ball. Tristin Hayslett would then double home Ball for a 1-0 lead. Hayslett would steal third before scoring on a wild pitch. With two outs Craft would double to score pinch runner Jackson Simons who ran for Gabe Lloyd after a walk. Southwood led 3-0.
Madison Grant would even the score in the top of the third before the Knights had an answer in the bottom of the inning. Logan barley led off with a single. With one out Alex Farr would triple home Barley. Hayslett would follow with a single to score Farr before Lloyd hit a shot over the center field fence to make it 7-3.
The Knights would add a couple insurance runs in the sixth. With one out Mason Yentes would single and was followed by a Carson Rich single. Barley would walk to load the bases before a Cam Ball double scored Yentes and Rich to lead 9-3.
