Norse Struggle Against Eastern

The Northfield baseball team garnered just five hits in a 19-2 loss to Eastern Monday.

The Norse were in the game the first three innings, trailing just 4-2 after three before giving up 15 runs the next three innings, including 9 runs in the sixth.

Down 1-0 in the first Clayton Tomlinson would hit a two out single before taking second and third on passed balls. Nate Drancik would follow with a single to score Tomlinson.

Down 4-1 in the third Chance Hartman would be hit by a pitch before taking second on a passed ball and stealing third. Tomlinson would draw a walk to put runners on the corners before the two runners pulled off the double steal with Hartman scoring to make it 4-2.

Eastern would then score 5 runs in the fourth, 1 in the fifth and 9 in the sixth for the 19-2 final.
