Southwood Softball Stops Eastbrook

The Southwood Lady Knights scoredin just two innings but it was enough as they defeated Eastbrook 6-2 Tuesday.

Eastbrook would take a 1-0 lead in the second and kept that lead until the bottom of the third. Aaliyah Douglas would lead off the inning with a single and was followed by a Makenlie Lambert single. Kassity Simpson would then double home Douglass to tie the score. Courtesy runner Mariah Brown would then score on a Maddie Turner ground out for a 2-1 lead. Makenna Pace would follow with a double that scored Simpson to make it 3-1 before Pace scored on a Tabitha Thomas grounder to lead 4-1.

Eastbrook would plate a run in the top of the fifth with the Knights answering in the bottom of the inning. With two outs Turner would single and was followed by Pace being hit by a pitch. Thomas would then single home Turner for a 5-2 lead. Thomas and Pace would then pull off the double steal for the 6-2 score.
