The Southwood Knights scored 10 runs in the fifth inning as they defeated Whitko 13-3 in five innings Wednesday.
Whitko would grab a 2-0 lead in the first before the Knights evened the score in the second. Tristin Hayslett would lead off the inning with a home run before Cam Ball reached on an error. With one out Ball would steal third before scoring on a wild pitch for a 2-2 score.
The Knights would grab the lead in the fourth. Ball would reach on an error. With one out Joey Bland reached on an error with ball advancing to third. Bland would then be thrown out at second trying to steal with ball scoring for a 3-2 lead. Whitko would tie the score in the bottom of the inning.
Southwood would deliver the big blow in the fifth, scoring 10 times. The Knights collected 9 hits in the inning, including 6 straight hits. Logan Barley, Joey Bland and Gabe Lloyd all had doubles in the inning. Southwood went on to win the game 13-3 in five innings.
