The Southwood Knights out gunned the Manchester Squires 8-4 Monday.
Manchester would grab a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Grant Strobel led off with a single before scoring on a Mason Roberts ground out. The Knights would respond with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Mason Yentes would double before scoring on a Logan barley one out single. With two outs Barley would score on a Cam Ball double for a 2-1 lead.
The Squires would tie the game in the top of the second. Thane Creager would single before scoring on a Korbin HHensley single to make it 2-2.
Southwood would grab the lead again in the third. With one out Gabe Lloyd would single and score on a Tristin Hayslett single for a 3-2 lead.
The Knights would tack on a solo run in the fourth when Carson Rich doubled before scoring on a Koby Thomas double to lead 4-2.
In the fifth the Squires would knot the score when Kam lester singled and scored on a Mason Roberts two run blast to make it 4-4. The Knights would answer in a big way in the bottom of the inning. Barley and Hayslett would single before Ball hit a three run shot over the center field fence for a 7-4 lead. With two outs Alex Farr would add an insurance run when he matched Ball’s home run with one of his own for the 8-4 score.
