Lady Knights Handle Wabash
The Southwood and Wabash softball teams hooked up Monday with the Knights defeating the Apaches 7-2.
Southwood would grab a 1-0 lead in the first when Ashley Smith hit a one out double and scored on a Tabitha Thomas single.
In the third Smith would single and take second on a Makenna Pace single. Thomas would follow with a triple to clear the bases for a 3-0 lead. Thomas would then score on a passed ball to lead 4-0. Kayla Mays would later score on a ground ball for a 5-0 lead.
The Knights would tack on a solo run in the fourth. Lambert would single before scoring on a Pace single.
The Apaches would get on the board in the fifth. Katie Newman would reach on an error before scoring when Kamden Pries reached on an error.
In the sixth the Knights would add one more when Kassity Simpson doubled and scored on a pace double.
The Apaches would pick up a run in the seventh. Hannah Halverson would walk before scoring on an error for the 7-2 final
