Wabash MS Soccer Shuts Put Peru
The Wabash Apaches middle school soccer team traveled to Peru for their second meeting against the Tigers this season Monday, defeating the Tigers 6-0.
Wabash took control of the game soon after the whistle, scoring 2 quick goals within the first 10 minutes of play. Solomon France scored off a Jacob France cross into the 18 to start; J. France would then add his own goal with a long ball that Peru’s keeper couldn’t track. Dominating possession throughout the first half, Wabash’s center midfielder Kolton Wilson scored on a drive up the middle of the field to add to the tally. J. France, who would score again before half off a Troy Guenin-Hodson cross, assisted Wabash’s 4th goal of the night with a well placed cross to Ashton Coffman, who drove a header into the back of the net. Wabash went up 5-0 at halftime.
The Apaches came out strong in the second half, focusing on possession and passing combinations across the field. Jacob Fuchs capped off a successful Wabash performance with a break away goal with 12 minutes left in the game. Wabash held Peru scoreless, and finished the night 6-0.
The Apaches will face off against Rochester at LH Carpenter field on Thursday, May 9 at 5:30 pm.
