Southwood Tennis Falls To Valley

The Southwood tennis team fell to Tippecanoe Valley 1-4 Friday.

The single win coming from Number 1 Singles player, Allison Steele scoring 6/2, 6/0 in the two sets. Steele played very well tonight. Her serves were well placed and wickedly fast. Mackinzie Costello had difficulty adjusting her play to combat the many change ups Steele sent her way.

Senior Baylee Swain, the Number 2 Singles player, was matched against Hannah Parson. Swain who is still recovering from a shoulder injury warmed up well but was outplayed by Parson, 0/6, 0/6. Number 3 Singles, Madison Snyder, lost to GiGi Engstrand in two sets 0/6, 1/6.

Ariel Benner and Shyla Judy played number one doubles against Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley. Benner and Judy struggled and were upset 1/6, 0/6.

Junior Faith Napier was moved up to varsity and played against Haley Baker and Kaitlyn Neistle, 1/4, 1/4. Napier continues to improve her serves and her control of the ball.
