Wabash Little League finally got in a weekend of baseball, although we did have to bundle up and got a little wet Saturday night,

Friday night in the National League we seen the Elks Lodge #471 Cubs lose 6-2 to the Wabash Hardware Giants, Highlights: For the Cubs Eli Bone and Clayton Sheppler led the Cubs with 2 hits each. And for the Giants: Ethan Bruce pitched 3 innings with 4 K’s and giving up 2 hits and Griffin Chambers pitched 2 innings with 3 K’s and giving up no hits.

Friday night in the American League we watched the Brian Mallow State Farm Indians take on the Ford Meter Box Tigers. The game started out tight as Emily Lochard for the Indians was throwing strikes and the Indians defense was getting the outs needed. Emily striking out 6 while on the mound. For the Tigers the bats started to get hot and collected hits from Logan Osborn, Kenyen Weeks and others, but Sarah Bever lead the way with two hits one of which was a inside the park GRAND SLAM to break the game open. Tigers win 11-2. The second game Friday was a battle between the Siders Premier Real Estate Yankees and the Bott Mechanical WhiteSox. Highlights for the WhitSox:. Winning pitcher – Andi Conliff, 3k In the 5th, 3 up, 3 down, went 1 for 1 at the plate; Bo Liddick went 1for 1 with a double, Sawyer McNally went 2 for 2, Austin Lamson went 1 for 1 with a double, Ethan Soden went 2 for 2 , single and a double. For the Yankees: Kayden Guthrie went 2for2 at the plate and Peyton Ward 7 strike outs. WhiteSox survive over the Yankees, 11-10.
