The Manchester Lady Squires scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat Wabash 5-4 Tuesday.
The Squires would grab a 1-0 lead in the second. Mackenzie Day and Teraka Tully would hit back to back singles before Day scored on a Lydia Greer two out single.
The Apaches would bounce back in the third when Kamden Pries led off reaching on an error. With two outs Kelsie Olinger would double home Pries to make it 1-1. Hannah Halverson followed with a single to score Olinger to give Wabash a 2-1 lead. Sydnee Osborne would then single to moveHalverson to second before an Alivia Short double scored Halverson to make it 3-1.
In the bottom of the fifth Emma West would lead off with a single before Torina Runkel reached on an error with West being thrown out at second. Emma Evans would follow with a single before Kindra Stetzel reached on a fielders choice to load the bases. Carsyn Howard would then reach on an error with Runkel scoring to make it 3-2. Day was then hit by a pitch to force home Evans to tie the score.
The game would go to the ninth still 3-3 when Pries led off reaching on an error. With one out Taylor Mettler would walk before Olinger did the same. With two outs Osborn would single home Mettler to put Wabash up 4-3. In the bottom of the inning Runkel would single before scoring on a one out Stetzel double to make it 4-4. With two outs Day singled home Stetzel to give the Squires the 5-4 win.
