Apaches Come Back At Maconaquah

The Wabash baseball team scored five runs the last four innings to defeat Maconaquah 5-4 Wednesday.

Maconaquah was leading 2-0 heading to the fourth when the Apaches got on the board. Kallen Kelsheimer would single and was followed by a Blake Gribben single. Payton Sodervick would then single home Kelsheimer to make it 2-1. With no outs the Apaches failed to plate another run in the inning. The Braves would answer with a run in the bottom of the inning to lead 3-1.

In the fifth with one out Bryan Boggs would be hit by a pitch. Boggs would steal second before a Trenton Daughtry single put runners on the corners. Daughtry would then be picked off at first with Boggs racing home to make it 3-2.

In the sixth Sodervick would lead off with a double and was followed by a Joe Leland walk. Jordan Booth would then draw a base on balls to load the bases before Jasper Walter was hit by a pitch to force home Sodervick to make it 3-3. With one out Daughtry would ground into a fielders choice with Leland scoring for a 4-3 lead.

The Apaches would tack on an insurance run in the seventh when Kelsheimer hit a shot over the right field fence for a 5-3 lead. The Braves would plate a run in the bottom of the inning as the Apaches held on for the 5-4 win.
