The Manchester Squires out hit Rochester 16-12 Wednesday in a see saw battle before falling to the Zebras 7-6.
The Squires would take a 1-0 lead in the first when Grant Strobel led off with a single and was followed by a Kam Lester single. With two outs Thane Creager would single home Strobel for a 1-0 lead.
In the second Manchester would tack on a second run when Hensley hit a one out single before scoring on a Lester single for a 2-0 lead.
Rochester would score a run in the top of the fourth to make it 2-1 before grabbing a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth. Manchester would answer in the bottom of the inning when Creager hit a one out single. Devin Marcum and Hensley would then hit back to back one out singles with Creager scoring on the Hensley single to make it 3-3. Kyle Shepherd would then knock home Marcum with a single to give the Squires a 4-3 lead.
Rochester would go up 5-4 in the top of the seventh on a two run home run before a single by Mason Meyer and an rbi double from Mason Roberts sent the game to extra innings.
The Zebras would score twice in the top of the eighth with the Squires getting one back, but falling short 7-6.
