Squires Get Walk Off Single From Lester To Defeat Wabash
The Manchester Squires got a walk off single from Kam Lester to defeat Wabash 4-3 Tuesday.
The Apaches would grab a 2-0 lead in the first. With one out Robert Irgang would single and was followed by a Kallen Kelsheimer two run home run for a 2-0 lead.
The Squires would cut the lead in half in the second when Sam Martindale launched one over the left field fence to make it 2-1.
In the top of the fourth the Apaches would add a run to their lead. With one out Joe Leland would draw a walk. With two outs Bryant Boggs doubled home Leland for a 3-1 lead. Again the Squires would answer with a run. With two outs Thane Creager would reach on an error before Martin dale did the same. Devin Marcum would then single home Creager to make it 3-2.
The Squires would draw even in the sixth. With two outs Creager would double before scoring on a Martindale single to make it 3-3.
In the seventh Michael Learned would reach on an error before Kyle Shepherd drew a walk. Grant Strobel would follow reaching on an error to load the bases before Lester singled home Learned for the 4-3 win.
