Wabash Girls Soccer Knocks Off North Miami

The Wabash Lady Apaches soccer team moved to 2-3 in the TRC with a 2-0 shutout win over North Miami Thursday.

Linda Cordes and Hannah Layne combined in goal for the shutout with Cordes having 3 saves and Layne with 10.

After remaining scoreless in the first half Madi Lutz found the back of the net with a wonderful unassisted goal with just 12 minutes remaining in regulation. After a Warrior handball in the box, Julia France buried her 2nd game-winning penalty kick of the season.

Solid defense by Mallow, Gunderman, O’Neil and Ballshmidt. Wabash had many players contributing offensively with shots by Cordes, Gunderman, Benysh, Layne, Yoakum, Davis, Lutz and Gray. Benysh continues to provide beautiful corner kicks and crosses to lead the offense.

Wabash continues in action next Thursday at home with a non-conference game against Peru.
