Lady Apaches Blank Whitko
The Wabash Lady Apaches soccer team came away with a big win Saturday to wrap up their conference play with a 6-0 victory over Whitko.
Senior Maya Benysh attacked first for the Apaches scoring the first goal unassisted and her second of the first half assisted by Kiersten O’Neil. After leading at 2-0 at half,
Wabash finished the game very strong by scoring 4 goals in the 2nd half. Nici Gunderman scored off a beautiful assist from Becca Bruss, Benysh rounded out her hat-trick by scoring her 3rd goal off an assist fro Rylee Yoakum, Isabelle Davis scored off another Yoakum assist and then Yoakum scored unassisted.
In goal to combine for the shutout was Hannah Layne with 4 saves and Linda Cordes with 1 save. Wonderful field play from Cordes, Libby Mattern, Morgan Mallow, Kalista Ballshmidt, Julia France, Madi Lutz and Ashley Province! The Lady Apaches move to 3-4 on the season and finished 3-3 in the TRC.
