Wabash Girls Soccer Falls To Lakeland
The Wabash Lady Apaches soccer team fell 3-1 to Lakeland Christian Tuesday.
The Apaches played them very tight with a lot of offensive opportunities, but after the 1st half the game was tied 0-0. Lakeland came out in the 2nd half and put three goals away on the Apaches, but the Lady Apaches continued to battle. With less than 6 minutes remaining, Benysh crossed the ball across the 18 to cause a handball in the box by Lakeland with provided a penalty opportunity for the Apaches, which Province connected to make the game 3-1. The Lady Apaches continued to apply pressure the last 5 minutes, giving themselves multiple opportunities to score. The girls played fantastic tonight and the way they continued to battle all the way to the last seconds of the game says a lot about the character of this team!
