Lady Apaches Comeback Falls Short

The Wabash girls soccer team fell to Marion 4-3 Monday.

The Lady Apaches put on a lot of offensive pressure on early and just couldn’t connect with the back of the net. The Giants game back in full force to lead into halftime with a score of 4-0.

The Lady Apaches continued to battle and played to the very last minute of the game! Isabelle Davis was the first to find the back of the net from a Rylee Yoakum assist. Davis continued to push offensively as did Maya Benysh, who scored off an Evelynn Gray Assist. Benysh found the back of the net once more, unassisted, to finish with 2 goals for the night. Offense was lead by Benysh with 9 shots, Davis with 6 and Yoakum with 4. Shots also taken by Gunderman, France, O’Neil, Gray, Mattern, Lutz and Cordes.

Very strong defensive game played by Morgan Mallow and fantastic midfield play from Mattern. Hannah Layne was in goal for the Lady Apaches and had 13 saves for the night and played an incredible 2nd half.
