Manchester Girls Soccer Takes Control Of TRC

The Manchester girls soccer team defeated Rochester Monday 2-1 in tough TRC action.

Both teams were 3-0 in the TRC headed into the game. Manchester’s Bailey Mooney scored quickly on a beautifully lofted ball from beyond the 18. Despite great defense from Lex Donathan, Hadley Schannep, Torina Runkel, Haley Clifford, and Kayla Metzger the Lady Zebras were able to break away and even the score. Manchester was able to get shots and looks at goal but were unable to find the net and headed into the half tied 1-1.

In the second half, it continued to be a tough battle back and forth. Beletu Stout, Bailey Mooney, Gabbie Brewer and Lainey Shock did a great job controlling the middle and creating opportunities for their teammates. Emma Garriott had great breakaways and with 8:40 left in the game Torina Runkel was able to clean up a rebound and put it in over the keepers head. Kindra Stetzel had 10 saves on the night and only allowed 1 goal.
