The Wabash County basketball tourney got underway Friday morning at Northfield. Four junior varsity games kicked off the tournament.
The Southwood and Manchester girls got things going with the Lady Knights defeating the Squires 43-23.
The Southwood and Wabash boys were up next with the Knights defeating the Apaches 46-26.
Wabash and Northfield girls were up next with the Lady Norse edging the Apaches 32-31.
The last junior varsity game of the day was between the Northfield and Manchester boys where the Squires held on for a 40-30 win.
Game one of the varsity session was kicked off by the Southwood girls taking on Manchester. Manchester would make a second half run and defeat the Lady Knights 45-38.
Wabash and Southwood would hook up in the first boys varsity game with the Apaches making a huge comeback in the second half on the back of Elijah Vander Velden to defeat the Knights 61-49.
The final girls varsity game for the night was between Wabash and Northfield, a rematch from a week ago that the Lady Apaches won. Northfield would even the series with a 49-30 win over the Apaches.
The final game of the night pitted the Manchester and Northfield boys. The Squires would run away from the Norse 73-40.
Individual stats from all the games will be added Sunday after we catch up from the two days.
