Apaches Advance/Squires Fall

Wabash and Manchester kicked off the Manchester sectional Tuesday with the Apaches defeating Bluffton 53-44, while the Squires fell to Canterbury 58-56.

Wabash got seven straight points from Trenton Daughtry to start the game and built an 11-2 lead before leading 11-4 after the first stop.

Bluffton would claw their way back in the second to tie the score at 15 at the half.

In the third the Apaches were trailing 27-25 before back to back three’s from Jasper Walter put Wabash up 31-27. Again the Tigers would answer and led Wabash 34-33 after three.

Daughtry would get Wabash going in the fourth before Jared Holley hit back to back long balls for a 42-34 lead. Bluffton would never get closer than four points the remainder of the quarter as Wabash went on to win 53-44.

Scoring : Vogel 3, Walter 11, Leland 2, Daughtry 26, Holley 9, Vander Velden 2.

In game two Manchester would control most of the first quarter with Austin Underwoos and Kreeden Krull doing most of the damage. Manchester led 15-10 after the first stop.

Canterbury would start the second quarter on a 14-0 run to grab a 24-15 lead and led 28-22 at the half.

Manchester cut the deficit to 30-26 early in the third before nine straight Canterbury points made it 39-26. Max Carter would find his rhythm late in the quarter with three buckets as the Squires trailed 46-40 after three.

Canterbury would build a ten point lead to start the fourth before the squires went on a 10-0 run to make it 50-50. Canterbury would out score Manchester 6-4 down the stretch for the 58-56 win.
