Wabash Boys Soccer Falls In Season Opener
The Wabash boys soccer team hosted Eastbrook in the first game of the season at the Morrett Sports Complex Wednesday, falling to the Panthers 3-0.
It was a hard-fought game as the Apaches held Eastbrook scoreless in the first half through solid defense provided by Lex Haynes and Kolton Wilson on the back line. Eastbrook continued to press hard into the second half and eventually, they broke down the Wabash defense sliding a shot into the side netting. Eastbrook scored twice more over the next 20 minutes, the last one coming off a rebound of a diving save by Greyson DeBoard. Greyson logged 10 saves in the game. Solomon France had a couple of chances to get a goal for the Apaches late in the game but was unable to find the net.
Wabash returns to action Thursday when they travel to Mississinewa for a 6 pm kickoff.
