Manchester Wrestling Wins Thriller Over Eastern
Manchester picked up big win on Senior Night against a stout Eastern squad with a thrilling pin in the final match of the night by Senior Isaac Diaz.
Diaz overcame a 4-0 first period deficit and wrestled back before tossing his opponent for a fall that capped a thrilling comeback victory for the Squires. Fellow Senior Gavin Mize picked up a pin to get things going and then Freshman Preston Duffy returned to the lineup with a win in his first appearance at 220. Junior Trevor Dill stepped up to heavyweight to earn a crucial major decision against a regional qualifier from last season to give Manchester an opportunity to win the dual in the closing matches. In addition to Mize and Diaz, the win provided a great final home result for Seniors Elijah Burlingame, Trescott Duffy, Jacob Caudill, and Izzy Serrano. This talented group will look to lead the Class A 7th Ranked Squires as they head to the East Noble Quad this Saturday at 9am.
