The Northfield boys basketball team defeated Smith Academy 56-17 Wednesday.
The Norse built an 11 point lead after one quarter and then used a swarming defense to hold Smith scoreless in both the second and fourth quarters.
Clayton Tomlinson led the way with 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Kaleb Krom added 9 points and 6 rebounds as the Norse used their height advantage to many easy baskets. Eli Kroh added career highs of 7 points and 7 steals. Jaxton Peas also had a career high with 7 points himself. Paul Treska, Alex Haupert and Dillon Tomlinson all scored 4 points. Trent Osborn added 2 points as Noah Burkhart and Eric Tracy each scored their first career points added 2 each.
The Norse move to 2-5 on the year and will play at Tippecanoe Valley on Friday night in a Varsity only contest.
