Norse JV Defeats Oak Hill

The Northfield Norse JV baseball team out hit the Oak Hill Golden Eagles after a great back and forth game. Never more than a run apart, the Norse prevailed 6-5.

Stand outs at the plate were Reece Rosen with the only double and 2 RBIs for the Norse, and Brandon McKillip with two hits. The rest of the offense was evenly spread around with 8 of the Norse producing a hit. Pitching was led with Malachi Higgins tossing 73 pitches in 4.0 innings, and Layne Denton who was twice as efficient throwing only 29 pitches across 3.0 innings. Great defensive plays were: a leaping line-drive snag by Justin Nelson, a line out by third baseman Noah Burkhart, and when Mason Osborn caught the line out and stepped on first preventing the tag up for the unassisted double play.
