The Wabash Middle School soccer team fell to Tippecanoe valley 4-1 Monday.

The Apaches hosted the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings in its second match up of the season. Tipp Valley came out strong despite a late arrival and the steady rain, scoring 3 quick goals on Wabash. Ty Carpenter, in his second appearance as keeper for the Apaches, tallied 5 saves on goal, holding the Vikings at 3 until halftime. Wabash had several promising passing combinations across the midfield and multiple crosses into the Vikings’ 18 but could not find the net. Wabash began the second half with veteran keeper Kristian Stanton in goal. With 10 minutes left in the contest, Ty Carpenter, resuming his field position, sent a driving ball down the middle of the field to Logan Wright, who was able to burn Tipp Valley’s last defender in a dead sprint and blast a shot to the back of the net, scoring the Apaches’ lone goal. Stanton had 3 saves on the night to hold the final score to 4-1 in Tully’s favor. Other notable shot attempts for Wabash came from Jonas Church, Max Carpenter, Kristian Stanton, and Ezra Church. Wabash battled mightily this spring season but grew in skill and confidence. The Apaches ended the season 2-10.
