National League Tourney Begins
Monday started the National League tournament at the Field of Dreams.
Monday we seen the Ingaurd A’s take on the Intrasect Technology BlackHawks. The A’s advance in the winner’s bracket from this game winning a close one 10-9. The second game Monday had the Wabash Hardware Giants hosting the Crossroads Bank RedSox. Haiden McWhirt had a huge game hitting TWO homeruns. The Giants move on winning 12-5.
On Tuesday we played the second round of the winners bracket. In the first game the Kendall Electric Yankees battled the Wabash Hardware Giants. The Yankees watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-5 loss to Giants. Mackey Sorg led the Yankees with two hits in two at bats one of which was a homerun in the third inning. Giants scored seven runs in the third inning. Tavian Tritter, Blake Enyert and Randy Boring each had RBIs in the big inning. Tavian earned the victory on the mound for Giants.
The second game on Tuesday was the #1 seeded Wabash Elks Lodge Cubs taking on the Ingaurd A’s.
Cubs scored five runs in the fourth inning. Cubs’s big inning was driven by singles by Treyce Daughtry, Landon Johnson, Caleb Dubois, and Branson Hayslett. Caleb Dubois was on the pitcher’s mound for Cubs. The ace allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four.
KAMDEN Oswalt, (the A’s normal Ironman catcher), was on the mound for the A’s. He was able to last three full innings. Henry Beauchamp made his pitching debut at the end of the game, coming in to get the A’s out of the fifth by throwing one pitch which the batter grounded out to retire the side.
Cruz Long, KAMDEN Oswalt, and Cooper Good each managed one hit to lead the A’s.
The A’s had trouble keeping up with Cubs in an 11-2 loss on Wednesday.
Wednesday we will play the first round of the losers bracket as we will see the RedSox take on the A’s and the Blackhawks take on the Yankees.
