The Junior High Norse rallied for two fourth quarter touchdowns for a 20-14 road victory at Wabash Tuesday.
Northfield amassed 184 rushing yards on 31 attempts en route to the victory. Ryder Schram paced the Norse run attack, finishing with 127 yards on seven carries. Schram recorded two touchdown runs, including a 59 yard scamper to start the third quarter. He also added a scoring tun of 11 yards.
Braden Rice totaled 26 yards on 14 carries and added the go-ahead touchdown, coming on a 14 yard carry. Luke Eviston tallied 21 yards on five attempts. Alec Oswalt (four carries, eight yards) and Corbin Goshert (1-for-2) rounded out the rushing attack.
Oswalt, at middle linebacker, was the field general on defense with 6.5 tackles. Kaden Rosen added 4 tackles while Trevor Galbraith chipped in 3.5. Gavin Brainard with 3 tackles, a sack and a quarterback pressure. Schram added 3 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception late that sealed the victory.
Jaylon Watson scored the first touchdown for the Apaches. Juan Burton scored the two point conversion. Juan Burton scored the second touchdown and led the Apaches on offense. Braxton Culver added a catch. Isaiah Jones had a fumble recovery and a pass defended. Austin Rider and Will Brewer played a great game on defense as well.
