Manchester Girls CC Wins Valley Invite
The Manchester and Northfield cross country teams ran in the Tippecanoe Valley invite Saturday. Manchester won the varsity girls race.
While fast times were hard to come by today and with a tough week in practice there were not many PRs, Manchester raced hard today at the Tippy Invite. We often tell our teams, “Your best is always enough today, but know your best will be better tomorrow.” So we continue to work hard for the next race and for Conference in a few weeks. We did have a few runners finish in the top 10 to medal. Trey Howard was 2nd in the JH boys race, Rachel Steely was 9th in the JH girls race, Raven King was 6th in the HS boys race, and Ayla Cashdollar was 5th and Kadence Fox was 6th in the HS girls race. Seniors Cade Jones and Kambree Cashdollar ran great efforts today, and Kambree’s great race helped the girls pull off a one point win over Rochester to take home the trophy!
Lady Norse Cross Country ran 7th overall team at the Tippecanoe Valley Invite. Coming in first for the lady Norse was Madeline Moore in 35th place, Trinity Bever in 37th, Mara Zolman in 39th, Ella Gahl in 41st, Asia Miller in 51st and rounding out the team is Natalee Keller in 68th place.
Boys varsity cross country ran a great race coming in 10th overall in the meet. Coming in 1st for the Norse and 26th overall was Layne Denton, 37th Karson Pratt, 72nd Kamdon Carpenter, 73rd John Nessler, 82nd Ryan Brunett and 84th Steven Kowalczuk.
Once again, Laney Haupert and Kaleigh Rice finish 3rd and 4th to lead the girls Northfield Middle School Cross Country team to a 4th place finish at the Tippecanoe Valley Invitational. Teagan Baer finished 18th, Ali Copeland 30th and Amarah Bowers 46th. Running in her 2nd ever race, Keira Oswalt improved her best ever by over 2 minutes. Every single girl turned in or very close to their season best times.
Tate Barlow ran a season best time of 11:49 finishing in 6th place to lead the Norse to a 4th place finish at the Tippecanoe Valley Invitational on Saturday. Also running season best times was Bode Sorg, 19th, Eli Gahl, 24th, Wyatt Bucher, 25th, and Kourtland Pratt, 30th. 11 of the 13 runners for the Norse turned in season best performances on the day.
