The Wabash girls soccer team fell to Blackford 3-2 Thursday.

Playing with just one sub, the Lady Apaches kept the offensive pressure the entire game, down to the very last second! After finding themselves down 2-0 in the first half, freshman Abbie Hipskind buried a goal off a Yoakum assist to make it 2-1 at halftime.

The Lady Apaches continue to fight through fatigue to continue pressuring Blackford and had several near misses. Sophomore Natalie Adams drew a penalty in the box that junior Rylee Yoakum put in the back of the net to make it 3-2. Senior Kalista Ballschmidt, Senior Ashley Province and Senior Linda Cordes did an amazing job holding the back line and junior Hannah Layne had another really strong night in goal with 13 saves. Shots on goal tonight by Yoakum, Cordes, Adams, Hipskind and junior Libby Mattern. Mattern continues to distribute so well for the Apaches and provided several scoring opportunities for the team. Sophomore Maddie Von Uhl, sophomore Piper Althouse, freshman Linda Long and junior Mar Perez gave incredibly strong minutes for the Lady Apaches.
