Wabash Boys/Northfield Girls Win Invite
The Wabash and Northfield cross country teams ran in the Wabash Invite Tuesday.
First for the HS lady Apaches and winning the race was sophomore Cali Kugler. Kugler came in only 3 seconds away from her PR time with a 23:44. Next was freshman Ivy Beamer coming in 6th place with a personal record time of 25:26. Following was our junior Grace La Mar, in 9th place and a time of 26:48, only 24 seconds from her PR.
With having 6 places out of the top 10, our Lady Norse brought home the trophy from the Wabash Invite on Tuesday evening. Trinity Bever led the Norse with a 2nd place finish in a time of 24:26 followed by 3rd place Mara Zolman in 25:53, 4th place Ella Gahl in 25:05, 5th place Madeline Moore in 25:11, 8th place Asia Miller in 26:37, 10th place Anna Kissel in 27:46 and bringing in our team was 14th place Natalee Keller in a time of 34:20.
The Apaches won their own invite Tuesday at the Wabash City Park with a score of 29 points. Kaden Vogel was the first Wabash runner to cross the line coming in 2nd place. Jace Bullins was right behind him in 3rd. Jonas Church, Chase Howard, Nick Perkins, Braydon French and Kasen Oswalt all finished together in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th place. Ethan Berry was 15th and Kristian Stanton 16th. Braxten Lakin finished 21st.
Northfield boys finished 3rd as a team with Layne Denton getting a medal for 5th place in a time of 19:16. Steven Kowalczuk came in 17th for the Norse in a time of 21:39 followed by 18th place Kamdon Carpenter in 22:08, 19th place Alex Reed in 22:26 and 20th place John Nesler in 22:33. Rounding out the Norse with a PR for the season was Ryan Brunett in 23:26.
