Manchester Swimmers Win At Elwood

The Manchester swim teams defeated Elwood Monday.

A solid team-effort propelled the Lady Squires past the host Elwood Panthers by a score of 98-68 on Monday night.

The 200 medley relay team of Miriam Stuble-Hedstrom, Hannah Eberly, Josie Briner, and Gracie Dale kicked off the night with a victory and the team of Kaesyn Lester, Julie Moren, Nele Bichler, and Noelle Walt finished third. Kaesyn Lester, Evyn Fox, and Paulie Martin continued the winning ways by taking first, second, and fourth in the 200 freestyle with season best times. Josie Briner stretched the Squire lead with her victories in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. The Squire distance swimmers continued their strong night with Kaesyn Lester and Adia Selleck finishing first and third with large improvements to their season bests. Miriam Stuble-Hestrom and Noelle Walt took care of business with a 1,3 finish in the 100 backstroke. The team’s first victory of the season was sealed with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay by Hannah Eberly, Fox, Lester, and Briner along with a runner-up finish by the team of Anglin, Dale, Walt, and Bichler.

The Squires picked up their first win of the year with a 61-48 victory over the host Elwood Panthers.

Jonathan Eberly (100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke) and Cale Bennett (200 IM, 100 butterfly) each won two individual events. Caden Marcum won the 500 freestyle. Raice Martin and Caleb Smith teamed up with Eberly and Marcum to win the 200 Medley Relay, and Eberly, Bennett, Martin, and Marcum won the 400 freestyle relay.

The Squires return home to take on Tippecanoe Valley on Wednesday.
