Manchester Swims Past Oregon Davis

The Manchester swim teams defeated Oregon Davis Wednesday.

The Manchester boys won 9 of 10 events contested to overpower Oregon-Davis by a score of 70-20.

Liam York and Cale Bennett were quadruple winners for the Squires. Individually York took firsts in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke while Bennett was victorious in the 200 and 500 freestyles. Jonathan Eberly and Caden Marcum picked up wins in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke respectively. York, Bennett, Eberly, and Marcum teamed up to finished first in 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Caleb Smith also had a strong meet with a second place finish in the 50 freestyle with a season best time.

In a night where many of our swimmers were trying out new events, the Squires overpowered a small Oregon-Davis team by winning 9 of the 11 events.

Josie Briner and Hannah Eberly paced Manchester with 4 victories each. Briner took first place in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly and Eberly won the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Gracie Dale picked up a win in the 200 freestyle and Miriam Struble-Hedstrom finished first in the 100 backstroke. Kaesyn Lester and Evyn Fox joined Briner and Eberly to win the 200 medley relay and Briner, Lester, Eberly, and Dale finished first in the 200 freestyle relay. The 400 freestyle relay team of Fox, Struble-Hedstrom, Noelle Walt, and Sophie Anglin capped off the meet with a win.
