A’s Set To Take On Yankees
The Inguard A’s held off the Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs 7-6 in 6 innings to advance to the championship game on Tuesday night.
Peyton Ward was 2 for 2 with a 2 run triple and 2 runs scored to lead the A’s at the plate. Cruz Long and Dylan Powell both had 2 hits and Conor Height had an RBI single. Breckin Sanders added an RBI. Cruz Long started on the mound and struck out 8 in 4 innings to earn the win. Peyton Ward struck out 4 in 2 innings for the save. Treyce Daughtry had a 2 run triple and 2 runs scored to lead the Cubs at the plate. Nash Cunningham had a single and 2 RBI. Landan Johnson added a double. Ian Edmond, Brody Schnurpel, Ryker Wilcox, and Grady Dillon all singled for the Cubs. Landan Johnson started on the mound and took the loss striking out 7 in 3 and 2/3 innings. Ryker Wilcox came on in relief and struck out 4 in 1 and 1/3 innings. The A’s will play the Yankees in the championship game on Tuesday night at 6:00. The Cubs are now eliminated from the tournament.
