Manchester Tennis Sweeps Churubusco
The Manchester boys tennis team got their season off to a nice start with a 5-0 win over visiting Churubusco Monday night, Aug. 22.
Churbusco was short-handed with just four players, giving the Squires a 2-0 lead before a ball was served.
No. 1 singles player Peyton Jones won 6-0, 6-1 and No. 2 singles player Josh Steely blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
The No. 1 doubles team of Sammie Lambert and Cole Henderson went three sets and pulled out a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win to clinch team sweep.
The Squires host conference foe Peru Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 5 p.m.
